carles castel 1965 born in manresa (catalonia/spain) 1986-1991 studies in fine arts at the central university of barcelona among others, his teachers were prof. joan hernández pijuan and prof. xavier grau 1991-1996 conservation and restoration of art 1992-1994 doctorate studies in fine arts and art history at the central university of barcelona 1992-1995 scholarship in research and fieldwork at the catalan centre of conservation and restoration 2001 ph.d. in fine arts at the central university of barcelona. during his studies and his work in restoration of art, carles castel has developed his painting career in parallel from 1998-2002 carles castel lived and painted in london from 2002-2004 the artist painted and studied in osaka, japan since 2005 carles castel has been living and painting between barcelona and berlin his paintings are in private collections in europe, usa, mexico, brazil and the far east carles castel explains his art to two young children in his studio 2019
